The Sr Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to assist in decision-making processes at St. Jude. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, forecasting future trends, and working closely with various departments to provide valuable financial information.
Overview
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
- Developing and coordinating annual budget, monthly financial variance analysis, and charge level direct cost for department teams.
- Developing robust Department financial cost center reports and other KPIs to track expenditures vs budgets to assist with program decision support.
- Participating in quarterly forecast and annual budget processes for the department.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance with contract policies and procedures.
- Ensuring data integrity in the company’s financials and raising potential issues to management in a timely manner.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency/automate current processes to enable focus on analytics and insights.
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.

- Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial risk management.
- Skills to develop and implement analytical standards for reporting and modeling KPIs.
- Is able to utilize models to perform ad hoc analyses.
- Proactively keeps track of changing regulatory and quality standards to align processes for compliance within own area.
- Utilizes reports and manages documentation to efficiently monitor financial compliance requirements within own function/department.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, tools, and processes.
- Skilled in closing books and internal & external financial reporting with an understanding of reporting standards.
- Creates reports for internal & external audience; evaluates reports and data to identify business issues.

Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field of study required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: 4+ years of experience in management/administration of financial/budgetary processes within a healthcare setting.
- Experience with budget and general ledger systems.
- Some experience developing cost accounting systems preferred.
- Proven performance in earlier role.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Senior Financial Analyst, Global Finance.
