Role and Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing tasks including journal entries and other supportive financial analysis.
- Assume responsibility over reconciliations of balance sheet accounts ensuring completeness and accuracy of accounts.
- Assist with the reconciliations that help ensure the completeness and accuracy of our billable hours invoiced to client accepted hours.
- Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Board and Management reports.
- Review and reconcile AR and AP agings to General Ledger monthly.
- Review and understand processes, identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
- Assist with system implementations and software upgrades.
- Assist with the semi-annual financial audit and preparation of requested information.
- Learn, understand and manage GL coding setup in Ceridian payroll platform.
- Assist in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures/conformance with GAAP.
- May be given additional projects as assigned by Management i.e. Reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to multi-task in a very fast paced, high pressure and dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail a must.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with all levels of clients and employees.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Must be able to work some overtime during evenings and some weekends.
- Proficiency with computer software, particularly Office products.
- Advanced Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience within a large ERP Accounting software (Great Plains).
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant.
