We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across all three financial statements. In addition, you will have a specific focus on managing a portion of our company’s inventory accounting. This is a crucial position that requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.
POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries
- Manage a portion of the company’s inventory accounting, including tracking, valuation, and reconciliation
- Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, and investigate any discrepancies
- Analyze inventory transactions such as scrap, recoveries, stock adjustments, and transfers, and provide monthly reporting metrics to management
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, highlighting key insights and trends to assist management in decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance internal controls
- Maintain system reports and address integration issues related to mapping
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to inventory
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards
- Assist in audits and respond to inquiries from auditors as needed
- Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus although not required
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience in inventory accounting
- 7+ years’ experience in professional accounting
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills highly desired
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
