Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Senior Staff Accountant to become a valuable part of our team in Plano, TX. This motivated professional will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for designated properties. Key responsibilities include creating development draw packages, conducting month-end close processes, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, performing monthly bank reconciliations, reviewing final products, and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive monthly accounting functions for single-family home building and development projects, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and monitoring receivables and payables.
- Oversee cash balances for assigned entities, submitting funding requests and approving bill payments as needed.
- Ensure timely payment of real estate taxes.
- Complete the monthly construction draw process for assigned development entities and assist in the month-end financial close, reviewing job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and invoice discrepancies.
- Provide support to the Single-Family Controller as a first-level reviewer for monthly draw reporting packages, financial packets, and other reports as required.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax return preparation.
- Participate in special projects and prepare ad-hoc reports as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills, initiative, good judgment, a strong sense of urgency, and attention to detail to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to perform under pressure and handle frequent interruptions and unexpected events.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and colleagues through various communication channels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and seek clarification when needed.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a solid understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of recent accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with Sage 300 (formerly Timberline) is preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- CPA license is a strong advantage.
