Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:The Manager of Revenue Cycle Systems oversees the Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst teams who implement, modify, test and administer modules and systems related to revenue cycle applications. Together with the Department Director, provides support and expertise to many strategic initiatives related to revenue cycle applications throughout the enterprise.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Sciences
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS- EPIC Certification Resolute Professional Billing Certification/Proficiency within 1 year
- EPIC Certification Resolute Hospital Billing Certification/Proficiency within 1 year
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- Four years (4 years) relevant health care/consulting experience in revenue cycle information systems
- Experience in revenue cycle documentation, testing, analysis and complex system design
- Experience in project management over IT/Systems related projects
- Keen knowledge of business functions and planning experience
- Prior management and supervisory experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE- Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Proficient in Visio and Microsoft Project a plus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Assigns staff to various projects and directs their activities
- Reviews and evaluates their work and prepares performance reports
- Leads the development of procedures for implementation, programming and/or maintenance of major computer systems
- Leads the analysis of software system requirements
- Promotes and supports all efforts to enhance the Carle Experience for patients, customers and team members
- Responsible for interviewing, disciplinary, payroll reporting, scheduling paid leave, and enforces required rules and regulations
- Monitors employee performance
- Ensures timely communications for goal setting, performance evaluations, wages increases and continued personnel actions
- Along with Director, develops budget recommendations and monitors budget activities
- Determines cost, time estimates, feasibility studies, design and implementation of new or modified systems and programs
- Manages the development of corporate application architecture and related materials
- Responsible for systems analysis and programming activities
- Establishes and implements new or upgraded systems and programs
- Participates in short-range and long-range strategic revenue systems, technology and business planning
- Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the Department
- Institutes sufficient controls to ensure work is getting completed timely and accurately
- Works with Leads to address requests in a timely manner
- Collaborates with Manager of Training to identify areas of system enhancement
- Delivers training updates via tips and rounding
- Works closely with other managers on the team and director to meet strategic and department goals
