As a Staff Accountant on our team, you would be responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Hybrid Work Schedule – Office Located in Orlando, FL – I-4/Kirkman Road.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Computing and preparing data for journal entries, reviews general ledger and related financial statements for reasonableness within set deadlines;
- Accumulating and analyzing information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, and reports on a monthly basis within set deadlines;
- Preparing month-end reports and reconciliation for insurance companies. Initiating monthly payments to carriers;
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and addresses reconciling items in a timely manner; referring difficult problems to more experienced personnel for resolution;
- Preparing monthly accrual journal entries for expenses;
- Answering inquiries from internal and external customers in a pleasant and efficient manner;
- Distributing monthly financial reports;
- Assisting with preparation of audit schedules for annual independent financial/carrier audits and interacts with auditors by answering inquiries;
- Working with the team to prepare consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, profit, loss and subsidiary statements;
- Assisting with preparation of annual budget;
- Processing of expense reports following the travel and entertainment policy;
- Assisting with preparation of corporate tax returns;
- Entering and posting journal entries;
- AR collection review and follow up;
- Preparing schedules to support balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis;
- Preparing schedule and calculates depreciation for fixed assets;
- Training and assisting new staff accountants and peers;
- Performing other duties as needed.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess extreme ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to interact well with diverse personality types.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good analytical abilities.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other accounting software.
