Citizens Bank is seeking Investment Banking Summer Analysts to join the Financial Sponsors group in Boston, MA. Summer Analysts will work closely with the team’s junior and senior professionals preparing, analyzing, and executing investment banking related transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market. Summer Analysts will also gain exposure to the true day-to-day responsibilities of an investment banker and will have the opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment.
At the conclusion of the 10-week internship program, high-performing Summer Analysts will be considered for a potential offer for direct employment into the Financial Sponsors Group team in Boston, MA (post-graduation).
Primary responsibilities include:
- Building internal network of sector and product bankers, credit partners, and business leaders across all groups within the investment bank to assist in the execution of a unified strategy with sponsor clients.
- Maintaining internal business development and performance processes: deal pipeline tracking, performance reporting / strategy presentations, prospect tracking, buyers list coordination, marketing.
- Supporting junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios.
- Analyzing financials, comparable companies and transactions and modeling: analyze financial statement trends, prepare public company and transaction comparable analyses, develop leveraged buyout and financing models and other analyses as needed.
- Preparing information memoranda and other transaction documents: draft key marketing and key transaction related documents.
- Preparing pitch/business origination materials and other presentations.
Qualifications:

- Current students enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program, graduating between Winter 2025 – Spring 2026 OR current students enrolled in a graduate program, graduating between Winter 2025 – Spring 2026.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2; Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- Relevant work experience, leadership experience or coursework in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but all majors will be considered.
- Strong analytical skills and software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency is required.
- Candidates must currently be a U.S. Resident to be eligible for this program. Please note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for intern/full-time Analyst positions and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
