The Senior Tax Manager/ Regional Financial Services Leader coaches and leads a tax, accounting, and consulting team that prioritizes customer experience and growth. The leader ensures collaboration with support teams and other business units to provide an outstanding customer experience. The leader strikes a balance between practice management of existing customers and new customer acquisition, with a sales mindset to grow Farm Credit East. This role is mindful of risk management and business issues ranging from the client level to the broader organization level.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Business Development:
- Partners with other Farm Credit East leaders to work collaboratively and create consistency across common marketplaces/industries/segments and alignment with FCE’s overall operating model.
- Represents and/or coordinates representation of Farm Credit East both internally and externally at community/industry events across the region and the broader LSA.
- Manages and grows the revenue and profitability of the region.
- Engages a customer centric approach utilizing a 360-degree view of both existing customers and new prospects across financial services and lending.
- Demonstrates working knowledge on economic conditions, as well as local/regional/global industry issues impacting customers in either a positive or negative manner, both as an external SME and internally within Farm Credit East.
- Collaborates with the tax, accounting and consulting team to develop a robust customer database and leverages multiples sources of data to identify future opportunities.
- Creates a business development/marketing culture within the region and leverage the region’s marketing plan and team resources to maximize results.
- Direct provision of financial services to more complex and higher end customer relationships.
- Team Leadership:
- Provides leadership and direction for all roles aligned with the customer facing activities within a region.
- Coaches and mentors both direct reports along with team members with dotted line accountability.
- Supervises financial services associates.
- Collaborates with peers across other business units, ensuring alignment, attending to group dynamics and acts to ensure that diverse perspectives are being shared.
- Sets a tone of a proactive and forward-thinking culture.
- Embraces the transformation to a digital mindset, promoting efficiency across the team, resulting in an improved customer and user experience.
- Practice Management:
- Manages the team’s productivity and realization to ensure efficient and profitable service delivery.
- Works with peers to monitor and adjust workflow as needed across all regions.
- Administers financial services within Farm Credit East policies, procedures and guidance.
- Responsible for region’s AR collection, WIP management, service quality, and billing administration.
- Works collaboratively with operations and payroll teams to implement financial services processes consistent with Farm Credit East policy/procedure/guidance.
- Works with peers and Human Resources to recruit and develop financial services teammates.
- Ensures that financial services teammates complete required training each year.
Job Qualifications and Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Agriculture, Agri-Business, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field. This position supervises team members in the following office locations: Potsdam, NY; Burrville, NY; Cooperstown, NY. Periodic travel to each of these locations is expected. This position can be based in any of the office locations listed above. We offer hybrid work options after six months of employment with Farm Credit East. Hybrid work options are determined based on job role and balancing the needs of the customers, the team, and individual work performance. This will be reviewed based on manager discretion.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: $90,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience. Short Term Incentive to reward business results. Retirement Contributions: 401k match up to 6% of salary. Defined Contribution retirement plan funded at 2-9% of salary depending on years of service. Time Off: 15-25 days of vacation leave per year, depending on years of service. 12 days of holiday leave per year. 6 days of sick leave in your first year, followed by 12 days of sick leave per year thereafter; unlimited rollover of unused sick leave year to year.
