Job Summary
The Accountant's responsibilities include overseeing community transaction preparation, conducting account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and fulfilling other essential accounting tasks. Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts for designated communities.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheets for designated communities.
- Review monthly T12, Budget-to-Actual, and general ledger activities.
- Generate adjusting, accrual, and recurring journal entries as necessary for designated communities.
- Prepare periodic financial reports as required.
- Create property-specific analytical reports as needed.
- Offer recommendations for optimal accounting practices based on the performance and activities of specific communities.
- Handle sales tax and tax information reporting filings.
- Ensure precise accounting for community operations in assigned areas.
- Record irregular or non-operating deposits for designated communities.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in working with various senior-level leaders, on-site team members, and geographically dispersed off-site team members.
- Execute other projects, special assignments, and additional tasks as delegated. These projects may involve research, data gathering, analysis, and reporting, requiring both independent and team collaboration.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information and documents.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in both written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities are a must.
- Exemplary attention to detail and outstanding quality assurance skills, particularly in proofreading for accuracy and completeness.
- Flexible, adaptable, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Team player with the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with the accounting team, operations team, and other internal stakeholders.
- Handles confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
