This Accounts Receivable (A/R) clerk role will help with the day to day A/R and cash application operations. This position will help aid in continually improving our A/R, cash applications and operating controls. The role will collaborate with other Optum Rx operational areas working strategically to aid in achieving business and financial goals.
This position is responsible for ensuring client accounts stay up to date. Interact with client management teams to ensure past due balances are collected. Responsible for segment area write-offs. Work to improve key metrics like DSO. Supports policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective control of the A/R function. Educates client management regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Day to day A/R collections and cash application process striving for operational excellence
- Aid in continually improving our cash flow/DSO through effective accounts receivable and collections
- Support overall A/R and Cash App processes ensuring they are operating effectively and continually improving our financial and operating controls
- Collaborate with Optum Rx operational areas working strategically to aid in achieving business and financial goals
- Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices
- Support internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting
- Collaborate on financial reporting issues
- Develop approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
- Perform work in a self-directed manner
- Support various special projects as required

Required Qualifications:
- High school education
- 1+ year of AR or accounting experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated self-starter with exceptional time management and organization skills
- Must reside in the state of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven A/R experience
- Healthcare accounting experience
- Experience in large matrix organizations
- Experience with Oracle, ServiceNow, Power BI
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities, and achieving solutions under deadlines
