Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for monthly reporting, posting financial transactions, communications related to accounting activities and preparation and distribution of reports to internal stakeholders. Other daily activities of the incumbent may include working on special projects.
Tasks include but not limited to:
Reporting and Monthly bookkeeping
- Perform Month End in the ERP and the reports associated with the close
- Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Prepare and book the monthly recurring journal entries;
- Prepare profit elimination calculation;
- Review and reconcile and variances from Subledger to the G/L including AR, AP, Inventory and Fixed Assets
- Review and maintain accurate GL integration for the submodules;
- Prepare the intercompany schedules
- Send schedules to Tarkett Sports Finance team
Tax
- Calculate and remit the sales and use taxes
- Support tax specialists (Tarkett North America) with ad-hoc requests
Fixed Assets
- Prepare Fixed Asset Request Forms (IAF – Investment Application Forms)
- Maintain Fixed Asset schedules and reconcile to G/L
Other activities, ad hoc requests:
- Support Controller in the Budget and Forecast preparation
- Support and ensure compliance in internal and external audits
- Backup for A/P specialist and Rev Cycle Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor in Accounting with minimum 3 years of experience
- Proficient in MS Office (intermediate Excel with knowledge of pivot tables and vlook ups) and computer systems management (ERP, reporting tools, etc);
- Knowledge and experience in Sage/Mas100 is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with Power BI and Vena (an asset)
- Experience in preparation of Financial Statements (an asset);
- Experience in Syspro (ERP) or Magnitude (Consolidation tool) (an asset)
