Toyota’s Payment Analysis Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Accounts Payable Accountant (CPA).
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure month-end close and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls are completed timely and accurately.
Reporting to the Account Payable Accounting Manager, the person in this role will support the AP Accounting department's objective to support department & division goals and perform core accounting functions to achieve monthly deliverables.
What you’ll be doing
- Analyze, prepare, and record key monthly and quarterly journal entries for payables to ensure that the general ledger is accurate, and entries are recorded in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present to management monthly financial analysis covering account fluctuation analysis and other ad hoc analysis requests.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation for key SOX and internal controls.
- Work closely with key manufacturing plants and divisions to provide general ledger support as needed.
- Responsible for working closely with external auditors to support quarterly/annual financial and SOX audits by providing supporting schedules and responding to audit inquiries and ad hoc requests.
- Promote identification, development, and implementation of process improvements to support controls and efficiencies over accounting processes.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Progressive experience in accounting function.
- Must have a current CPA.
- SOX experience (Audit experience is preferred).
- Accounting and Finance functional experience.
Added bonus if you have
- Experience with SAP.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong skills in taking the initiative to lead continuous improvement efforts and change manage.
- MBA a plus.
- Experience with Ariba.
- Project Team experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Analysis skills.
