Clarivate is seeking to hire a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our growing, global Finance team! Partnering with the business, you will be a key contributor to corporate finance with direct responsibilities to perform general accounting duties and ensure compliance with SOX controls. Including Analysis of Financial Results, you will primarily support the legal entity controllership team with regards to the recording and reporting requirements, which includes regular tasks and compliance as expected. Collaborating closely with the global finance team, this role requires close coordination, communication, and effective cross-functional relationships with a direct reporting line to the Director, Accounting.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments:
- 2+ years’ experience in corporate accounting
- BA or BS in Accounting/Finance or similar discipline
- Experience in handling Accruals & Prepaids
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
- Advanced computer literacy in M.S. Office products, especially in MS Excel with functional formulas
It would be great if you also had:
- CPA
- MBA or Master’s degree
- Current and/or prior SOX experience working with a publicly traded company
- Experience with an accounting ERP (i.e., NetSuite, OneStream, Blackline)
- Working exposure under Shared Services Environment supporting Controllership would be highly preferred
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Willingness to take up challenges and ready to deliver on critical timelines
- Solid analytical skills – a professional who can apply strong analytical skills to improve various aspects of the consolidation and reporting processes
What will you be doing in this role?
- Prepare BS and IS monthly flux analysis including comparison to prior periods and budget/forecast
- Prepare trial balances and financial reporting in general, as needed (US GAAP and STAT)
- Support tax team reporting
- Work closely with Intercompany Central Team
- Assist in preparation of BS/PL accounts journals and account reconciliations (Blackline)
- Analyze AR/AP aging reports
- Maintain understanding of significant customers and vendors
- Review Accruals/Prepaids
- Communicate with auditors, when needed
- Highlight and research anything that looks odd/wrong and remedy for reporting period close
- Perform general accounting activities, reconciliation, reporting, and month closure activities
- Demonstrate solid documentation skills
- Exhibit awareness of corporate critical timelines, deliverables, policies, and guidelines
