Purpose of Job:
The Sr Financial Analyst will be a key partner to the Finance and Supply Chain teams in the execution of the annual operating plan, forecast, and financial reporting and analysis. In addition, this role will partner with the Interstate Batteries Recycling (IBR) team in identifying and reporting the actual values realized from strategic transformation efforts across supply chain and procurement. Strong focus will be placed on analytic rigor and partnering across Finance and Supply Chain (both internal and external) teams. Output from this role will be shared across the organization, including the Executive Leadership Team.
- Provide timely and accurate periodic reporting of actual performance versus forecast and prior year.
- Support the month-end close for IBR in partnership with Accounting.
- Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain teams and leaders to present insightful explanations of variances and recommendations on risks and opportunities to the plan and/or forecasts.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for optimization and performance improvement. Develop Key Process Indicators to track results to inform key decision-makers and continually improve process outcomes.
- Develop and update budgets and forecasts related to transformation initiatives.
- Develop robust business models, complex financial analysis, and valuation assessments.
- Prepare periodic executive-level financial summaries on results, budgets/forecasts, and risks/opportunities.
- Own project deliverables, timeline, and success criteria, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Generate other ad hoc analysis, as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred areas of study include Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently but also capable of working in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP is desirable.
- Experience with Tableau and working with large data sets is preferred.
- Combination work from office/work from home.
- Travel up to 5%, if any.
