Job Description Summary
Under direction, performs professional accounting work including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records; and performs related duties as required. All duties require attention to detail and accurate data entry.

Job Responsibilities
- Execute the monthly close process
- Analyze account reconciliations.
- Manage the processing of check receipts.
- Pay monthly and Upfront MI of FHA Connection
- Work with Treasury and other departments to ensure proper accounting treatments of complex structures within the company
- Analyze corporate expenses, including comparisons to expected trended results.
- Perform intercompany accounting including reconciling intercompany billing and receivables between all entities and ensure elimination of intercompany accounts
- Assist in the implementation of internal controls and accounting processes and procedures
- Coach and mentor the accounts payable and junior accountant personnel
- Ad Hoc analyses as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance Business Administration, or Economics. Master's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years accounting experience preferably in a mortgage banking or financial services environment.
- Experience with accounting for complex business entities especially a parent organization with multiple subsidiaries.
- Public Audit experience required.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions including macros, pivot tables, H & V-Lookup.
- Good communication skills both verbal as well as written.
- Knowledge of GAAP required.
- Familiarity with SOX is a plus.
- Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good record-keeping.
