The Senior Financial Analyst (HR) is responsible for the independent development and review of business planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support and drive HR projects and objectives. This position is responsible for account reconciliations, period domestic bonus attainment calculation and annual bonus payout reconciliation, period forecast, journal entries, tracking domestic group medical insurance and medical expenses, and creating the fiscal year Financial Planning and Latest Estimate updates for bonuses, payroll tax rates, deferred compensation, 401k match, charitable contributions and vacation including the development and support of internal control policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, interpret, and implement financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control.
- Analyze financial information to determine past, present, and future financial performance.
- Calculation, analysis and forecasting of periodic key reserves related to group medical insurance, accrued vacation and accrued bonuses.
- Responsible for preparing period close journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Responsible for detail weekly tracking of domestic group medical insurance and other insurance expenses versus plan and forecast.
- Responsible for the fiscal year Financial Planning and Latest Estimate updates as it pertains to the HR functional area and as it pertains to domestic organization wide group medical insurance, bonuses, payroll tax rates, deferred compensation, charitable contributions, 401k match and vacation.
- Responsible for gathering and reporting quarterly PITT crew initiative results.
- Responsible for period end financial presentations and weekly forecast preparation for the HR P&L.
- Partner with the business to provide financial advice/guidance as it relates to expense management and capital expenditures.
- Responsible for supervising one direct report.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years in Accounting and/or Finance related work experience
- Experience in Accounting, Planning, and P&L analysis
Preferred:
- Experience with PeopleSoft/Oracle financial systems
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Master’s Degree, or MBA
- CPA Certification
