Lead, mentor, and train Material Support personnel and participate in technical reviews and alert Supply Chain and Maintenance leaders of trends in material consumption and recommend corrective actions.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible to coordinate the allocation and sourcing of aircraft parts.
- Assess, prioritize and delegate AOG material request workload to Material Coordinators.
- Work as a liaison between Purchasing, Repair, Warranty, Planning, Maintenance Planning, and the Maintenance Control Center.
- Evaluate global inventory positions for component requirement fulfillment and evaluate “move vs. buy” decisions.
- Utilize analytical skills to perform critical reviews and analysis of stock-out situations and recommend corrective actions to the Material Support Planning team.
- Manage day-to-day workload management.
- Ensure other metrics are accurately reported and pro-actively managed/improved on a monthly basis.
- Participate in daily operations meetings and communicate status of requested material.
- Responsible for the motivation, coaching, training, selection, and scheduling of the Material Support team.
- Coordinate and communicate aircraft parts, technical and logistics updates to Maintenance Control.
- Evaluate parts being procured to ensure compliance with all Federal regulations and Company policies regarding quality, documentation, and traceability.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Control Supervisor to identify AOG parts requirements and determine the best method of obtaining parts utilizing company inventory.
- Support the daily activities of the Operations Center by procuring components, equipment, and supplies in a time-critical aircraft operations environment.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls to include purchasing policy/procedures, applicable GMMs, and related CFRs and SOX compliance.
- Identify and execute warranty claims with supplier partners.
- Utilize OEM Illustrated Parts Manuals to reference and resolve component identification and interchangeability issues.
- Communicate recognized safety issues promptly to management in accordance with company SMS policy.

Education
Bachelor's in Business or Supply Chain and Logistics.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- 6+ years of applicable experience required, 2+ of which in a materials environment and 3+ of which managing or supervising direct reports required.
- Prior experience working in an airline or related aviation field preferred.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and off-site locations on a temporary or permanent basis as needs of business dictate.
- Strong decision-making and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Self-initiative and the ability to work independently with little supervision required.
- Proven ability to collaborate to reach consensus in a professional environment required.
- Thorough understanding of all modes of transportation and logistics both domestically and internationally.

- Ability to handle time-sensitive and multi-faceted projects.
- Excellent proficiency in technical manuals including but not limited to IPC, AMM, CMM, wiring diagrams, etc.
- Complete understanding of Technical Operations functions and process flows in Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Maintenance Control, Reliability, Line Maintenance, and Quality.
