The Position:
This position will report to the Accounting Manager and will play a key role in maintaining the daily operations of the accounting staff and ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The senior accountant is responsible for a variety of tasks as outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- General ledger: chart of account maintenance, manage month-end closing control log, journal entry preparation and posting, account analysis & review, sub ledger reconciliations.
- Validate accuracy and completeness of monthly management fees.
- Provide guidance to accounting team on day-to-day transactional items.
- Provide actual vs budget vs prior period analysis to management.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements and other financial reports for all entities and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Produce revenue recognition schedules for percentage of completion jobs.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Cash disbursements/deposits.
- Reconcile credit card statements.
- Reconcile inventory.
- Month-end close process & GL reconciliation.
- Assist with job closeout process and commissions schedules.
- Assist with insurance audits.
- Assist with financial statement audits.
- Assist with special projects/ad-hoc reporting, as necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred, but not required.
- Two to Four years of experience in public/private accounting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft office.
- Able to problem solve and work independently.
