The Senior Cost Accountant plays an intricate role in our success here at the client. This person plans, studies, and collects data to determine company profitability related to gross margin and standard costing. This includes customer pricing analysis, as well as standard raw material, labor, and overhead costs with reporting on variances to those standards. This role works to implement and improve the financial systems supporting the manufacturing processes. The Senior Cost Accountant prepares and reports timely and accurate financial information while providing insights to the gross margins and related manufacturing costs. This position will report to our VP/Controller, who is Client's top finance executive. The finance team takes pride in its culture of trust, communication, partnership and continuous improvement, and is looking for a like-minded individual who shares those cultural values.
Responsibilities
- Plans, studies, and collects data to determine company profitability related to gross margin and standard costing
- Works on customer pricing analysis
- Works on standard raw material, labor, and overhead costs with reporting on variances to those standards
- Works to implement and improve the financial systems supporting the manufacturing processes
- Prepares and reports timely and accurate financial information
- Provides insights to the gross margins and related manufacturing costs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of related financial operations experience in a manufacturing environment including assignments as a financial analyst and/or cost accountant
- Proven experience with leading an organization with cost accounting functions
- Strong business acumen with experience in financial projects that address operational challenges
- This position will require an onsite physical presence on a regular basis
