Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for certain accounting and compliance functions for the company. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for cash management/treasury activities, general ledger stewardship, and month-end closing. Reconciles balance sheet accounts. Researches, investigates, and reports issues and corrections related to general ledger transactions. Responsible for the review of the income statement, balance sheet and completes financial statement variance analysis on a monthly basis. Provides ad-hoc analysis as requested.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare monthly journal entries to record such items as revenue and allowances, prepaid expenses, accruals, and depreciation.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts, revenue, and expenses and complete monthly variance analysis.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including intercompany accounts.
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheet and income statement on a monthly basis.
- Support other departments by responding promptly and accurately to inquiries.
- Support the annual budget process.
- Support the annual financial audit process and special audits during the year.
- Cross-train with the Controller to perform duties during absence.
- Comply with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Comply with Exceptional HealthCare Inc. policies and procedures, Compliance Policy, and Code of Ethics.
- Conduct special projects as assigned.
- Work with other teams to standardize corporate accounting procedures.
- Be responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Must possess ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel including corporate and field operations.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Microsoft Office including Excel and Word is a plus.
Work Environment: Perform duties in a fast-paced and professional office environment. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal.
