We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant for one of our client's plants located in the Miamisburg area. Ideal candidates will have cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and strong Excel skills. Any ERP experience would be a plus, and a background with cost reductions, process improvement, and independent research experience would be helpful as well. Base salary will be 90k to 100k based on experience, background, and how things progress during the interview process.
This role will be heavily involved with month-end close activities like:
- Creating journal entries
- Preparing standard financial and operational reports
- Explaining operational activities and related variances
- Reporting monthly plant performance, inventory reconciliations, and excess and obsolete inventory analysis
Ideal candidates will also have experience with:
- Reviewing and monitoring asset additions, transfers, and disposals
- Maintaining and improving process documentation and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
- Calculating standard cost for new products and processes improvements to products
- Annual physical inventory activities and monthly cycle count analysis
- Preparing and monitoring annual budgets and working with team and group leaders monthly to review variance and root causes
- Working with leaders and members of other teams and departments like Operations, Materials, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, R&D, and Sales/Marketing
- Regulating and authenticating financial transactions related to inventory, plant spend, and fixed assets
- Reviewing and reporting on inventory transaction activities
- Performing work order review and analysis, assessing accuracy and completeness
- Preparing financial analysis to monitor spending in key areas (scrap, spending, inventory, etc.)
