Our Real Estate Solutions Team provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to commercial and residential real estate developers; particularly those who utilize low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, or renewable energy tax credits to finance their projects.
As a Senior Associate with the Mahoney Real Estate Solutions Team, you will assume a pivotal role in providing a variety of tax and accounting functions for clients, including:
- Prepare partnership tax returns
- Prepare annual financial statement audits of real estate projects
- Conduct development cost certifications for Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Historical Tax Credit (HTC) projects
- Work to recognize complex technical audit/tax issues and assist in finding resolutions
- Assist with construction accounting
- Application of strong interpersonal skills to provide effective communication across organization levels internally and with various clients
- Other tax and accounting services as needed by clients
- Utilization of Excel and Word for the following tasks:
- Analyze large amounts of data, create financial reports, and generate reports
- Create and manage financial statements, tax returns, and audit reports
- Automate tasks such as data entry, report generation, and data analysis
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
- CPA license (or working toward completion) and 2-3 years of public accounting experience
- Interest and/or experience in Real Estate, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and Historic Tax Credits
- Prior experience with CCH software products (Axcess Tax, Engagement, Document) is a plus
We offer a competitive base pay range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year. During busy season, most accountants work 55-hour weeks.
