WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the finance team with accurate and timely revenue reporting. This role involves leading a team of accountants, collaborating with various departments, and contributing to the company's financial strategy.
THE SCHEDULE:
This is a full time in office based role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and analyze contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and disclosures for financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of revenue-related accounts.
- Collaborate with external auditors to support the annual audit process.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue accountants.
- Provide training on revenue recognition principles and company policies.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support career development for team members.
- Work closely with sales, legal, and operations teams to review contract terms and conditions.
- Partner with the FP&A team to provide revenue forecasts and analysis.
- Coordinate with IT to ensure the accuracy and functionality of revenue systems and tools.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition; prior experience in a managerial role preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly.
- Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
