FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING OFFICER

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a key position on the accounting and finance team for a Bank and the Bank’s holding company. The incumbent provides critical support to the Bank and the bank holding company and must be interested in advancement. This position is not eligible for remote work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hire, train, supervise, and manage general accounting and accounts payable staff, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Oversee work performed by general accounting and accounts payable staff, ensuring entries and tasks are completed accurately and timely.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of internal DDA and general ledger accounts; research, resolve, and escalate reconciling differences appropriately.
- Assist with development and implementation of policies and internal controls; ensure policies and internal controls are followed.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Maintain the general ledger system.
- Research and resolve accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with regulatory and financial reporting.
- Maintain supporting documentation of work.
- Prepare various reports.
- Assist with audit fieldwork.
- Back up other department members.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and banking operations.
- 2+ years managing a team.
- FDICIA or SOX experience with a public company preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Three years of related financial services experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence others.
- Good organizational skills.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- A passion for excellence and improvement.
- Jack Henry software experience preferred.
