JOB SUMMARY:The Healthcare Senior Financial Analyst works on the development and analysis of annual operating budgets, assisting with month end close, analyzing significant variances between budget and trend, as well as preparing journal entries. The Senior Financial Analyst supports revenue cycle, business development, and the operational improvements for the hospital through financial analysis, reporting, and operational support. This includes providing financial assessments and recommendations, building relationships with operational leaders, and mentoring new analysts and other organization stakeholders.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Two (2) years of accounting or finance experience in healthcare, or three (3) to five (5) years of accounting or finance experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Microsoft Office; Excel; Data Analysis; Database Fundamentals; Communication; Problem Solving Ability and Flexibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Leads financial projects of analyzing and leveraging operational data to improve the performance of the organization.
- Maintains information systems required for productivity, budgeting, and reporting.
- Provides financial assessments and recommendations for departments based on budget and trends.
- Assists with month end close process and analytical reporting.
- Builds relationships with operational leaders as their financial liaison.
- Assists with the development of budget forecast, budget analysis, and assists department managers as they complete their budgets.
- Mentors new analysts and other organization stakeholders.
- Leads projects to achieve organization's financial objectives.
- Maintains monthly financial reconciliations as assigned.
- Assists with ad hoc analytical projects, proformas, or reporting requests.
