Overview:
The Senior Accountant is a mid-level professional capable of fulfilling the accounting requirements of overseeing the AP/AR Practitioners, while assisting in the month end close process, including interface with business unit financial management and peers in corporate accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the workflow and productivity of all areas of the AP/AR practitioners.
- Delegates and prioritizes assignments based on complexity and availability of team resources.
- Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity.
- Assist in the monthly closing process - accrual base adjustments for expenses.
- Research and explain variances to budget.
- Assist in the preparation of the internal monthly financial packages.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally.
- Identifies accounting discrepancies, research possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure proper capitalization of expenditures and timely recording of fixed asset transactions.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related Degree.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a CM or General Contractor organization.
- Or equivalent or combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Proficient in CMiC and Microstrategy.
- Understanding of GAAP requirements and their applicability to financial reporting.
- Strong analytical & problem solving capabilities.
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Providence, RI this ranges from $97,400.00 - $134,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
