Position Summary:
Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of financial reporting and general ledger accounting in accordance with Company policy and Federal/State regulations, including the overall care, custody, and management of casino funds, securities, and records. The Accounting Manager shall supervise all financial accounting functions, analyze financial statements, and submit related reports to all management staff as well as regulatory agencies, adhere to all Internal Control Policies and Procedures, Bank Secrecy Act, Title 26 Rules and Regulations, as well as ensure Company accounting procedures and reporting conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established Company policy, and in compliance with regulations.
- Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests.
- Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs staff to ensure that Team Members receive leadership, guidance, resources to accomplish established objectives and foster an environment of support and motivation for team members.
- Prepare and review journal entries.
- Maintains financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Reconciles primary and subsidiary banking accounts.
- Maintains general ledger through information gathering and reconciling differences.
- Ensure department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and assist in other administrative processes such as budget, staffing, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement and other reports as requested to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
- Produce, monitor, and evaluate all reporting departments to ensure the proper planning for short- and long-term strategies to facilitate ongoing improvement of operations and financial return.
- Manages the preparation of, and reviews, financial reports to ensure reasonableness and completeness, and releases reports or directs revision of reports.
- Reviews and interprets unusual transactions, adjustments, or unexpected financial results to supervisor as assists in the appropriate accounting resolution.
- Assists internal, external, and/or regulatory auditors. Maintains strict security and confidence of all records and reports.
- Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed within the standards established by management.
- Resolves problems within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
- Maintains comprehensive industry familiarity with financial practices. Works closely with other property key personnel in exchanging information on financial activities, and develops proper security measures to ensure the integrity of the operation.
- Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as applicable.
- Take on and manage various projects as assigned to aid in the achievement of evolving company goals and objectives.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus three years experience of direct experience in Accounting. Supervisory experience preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong oral and written skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs are required.
- Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.
- Must be able to travel to all Company properties.
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to successfully completing all essential responsibilities.
- Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an environment exposed to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varied light levels, including flashing lights. Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.
