We are looking for a Treaty Underwriter to join our team in Munich which is responsible for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordics. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future together with our team out of our new office in Munich.
What you can expect
- Responsibility: A broad spectrum of responsibilities for P&C treaty reinsurance business within your assigned authorities. You are supporting in the analysis, pricing and evaluation of profitable treaty reinsurance business for VIG Re.
- Client focus: You are the counterpart for our clients and partners and represent VIG Re in your allocated markets. You understand client needs, develop solutions, and manage client relationships in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Impact: Take the chance to create daily impact and to shape the future of VIG Re in Munich. With our new office in Munich, you have the unique chance to be part of developing VIG Re in DACH & the Nordics.
- Involvement: Be actively involved with colleagues and initiatives, fostering exchange and cooperation throughout VIG Re. You have the chance to put your ideas into action to design and improve underwriting processes and solutions.
What we expect
- Passion for risk: you have a strong understanding in the assessment of risks and a flair for numbers.
- Ability to evaluate standard proportional and non-proportional treaty reinsurance business in adherence to VIG Re’s processes and guidelines.
- Comfortable in developing and maintaining client and broker relationships.
- Open minded and proactive to foresee the development of risk, tool and market assessments.
- Strong in the command of underwriting tools and IT applications.
- You are a team player with excellent analytical skills who proactively integrates other functions in the underwriting process to ensure underwriting quality.
- A university degree (preferably quantitative studies/actuarial science or economics) or a professional insurance qualification.
- 4+ years of experience in reinsurance underwriting. Experience in DACH is an asset.
- Willingness to travel combined with fluent German and proficient command of English.
