Job Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Corporate Accountant is a key financial professional responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of a company at a senior level. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and compliance regulations. The Senior Corporate Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams, provides financial insights to management, and plays a vital role in driving strategic decision-making processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Have a granular-level understanding and take ownership of your respective business units; their main revenue stream or carriers, seasonality of revenues and/or expenses, expectations for performance, and an inquisitive mind to understand variances from expectations by asking our business unit contacts.
- Review of offshore team’s work.
- Weekly tasks in Blackline and ensuring the tasks are completed on time e.g. Bill.com & Concur Review.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations in Blackline.
- MD&A and ensure that all the MD&A are prepared based on the risk matrix.
- Monitor the timeliness and accuracy of all weekly and monthly tasks, Chase bank activity recording.
- LAM/BAML.
- Integration tracker (BD15).
- Cash reporting.
- Update the error log created online Excel to keep track of training opportunities identified during the weekly/monthly tasks and reconciliation review.
- QBR Attendance and tracking.
- Responsible for the feedback on all direct reports (Offshore team).
- Communicate clearly with your respective business units, answering their questions or points of clarification with a customer service mindset.
- Assist in various ongoing and ad-hoc projects or initiatives.
- Monitor carrier transfer progress and lead the closure of local bank accounts in sync with Treasury.
- Assist the business units with integration requirements when necessary and review the Integration trackers making sure they are up to date and data has integrity.
- Assist in the interim and year-end audit process.
- Maintain the Integrity culture, an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard.
- Lead by example by following and implementing Integrity and Finance policies.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- Extensive experience in corporate accounting, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent understanding of internal controls and experience with risk assessment and mitigation.
- Advanced skills in financial systems (ERP) and proficiency in using accounting software.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
