We are seeking a meticulous and experienced FOIA Analyst to join our team. The FOIA Analyst will be responsible for managing the processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, ensuring compliance with FOIA laws and regulations, and facilitating the release of information in accordance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and acknowledge FOIA requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming FOIA requests and actions taken.
- Evaluate requests to determine scope and requirements for document search and retrieval.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of FOIA laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information requests.
- Proficiency in using redaction software to safeguard sensitive information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in document review and redaction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in maintaining records and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience specifically in processing Freedom of Information Act requests at the base level; experience at command level preferred.
