LMI is seeking a Senior Analyst, Space Warfighting Interdependence Modeling and Simulation in the Chantilly, VA or Colorado Springs, CO area.

The qualified applicant(s) will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center’s (SWAC) Force Design Integration Office (FDIO) in Chantilly, VA or Colorado Springs, CO with an expectation of limited travel based on emerging priorities. The applicant(s) will conduct technical analysis to assess, document, communicate air, land, and sea warfighter dependencies on space architectures and operations. Candidate(s) will collaborate with SWAC Program subject matter experts, conduct independent analysis and modeling, and ensure effective representation of dependencies in modeling software and simulation engines. Additionally, qualified candidate(s) will collaborate on analysis conducted by the Threat Analysis Division (TAD) and SWAC integrated analytic teams. The applicant(s) must have a technical depth and breadth of space capabilities and systems engineering with an understanding of complex analysis and industry capabilities and best practices. The candidate(s) will actively coordinate with SWAC model and simulation experts across SWAC programs and have or develop robust familiarity with SWAC M&S tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine future warfighting concepts and mission areas to assess and document (Adversary and/or Joint) interdependencies for the purpose of enabling model-based system engineering
- Develop dependency models compatible with digital engineering software and consistent with community best practices
- Enhance SWAC Program and Integration Layer analysis
- Interface with SWAC Program technical experts and DoD analytic partners
- Articulate technical space system design recommendations and trade space decisions based on warfighting impact
- Support high-visibility space-based capability studies
To successfully execute the above duties and responsibilities, the applicant should have soft skills such as:
- Understand complex technical issues and produce recommendations for a wide audience
- Apply critical thinking in complex and dynamic organizational environments
- Have strong communication skills (technical writing, developing presentations, briefing, etc)
Qualifications:
- STEM Bachelor’s Degree (STEM Master’s Degree desired)
- Strong technical background
- 10+ years space operations or space acquisition experience
- 4+ years Joint operational planning, integration, or requirements development experience (desired)
- 5+ years of commercial/civil space experience (desired)
- Experience with space design and/or architecture development including satellite ground systems
- Experience with and knowledge of DoD, IC, and commercial satellite systems
- Experience working in SCI/SAP environment (highly desired)
- Top Secret/SCI and Special Access Required eligibility (required)
- CI Poly (desired)
Target salary range: $114,108 - $203,112. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
