Position Summary
ITS is seeking an energetic financial professional to serve as Assistant Corporate Controller, based in the company’s Reno headquarters. S/He will report to the Corporate Controller and lead the delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual detailed financial reporting – internal and external, support company year-end audits and regulatory filings and compliance.
The successful candidate will lead an effective accounting team, fostering a high-performing environment that holds to ITS Logistics’ company standards. The Assistant Corporate Controller will need to quickly learn ITS Logistics’ business, ensure organizational alignment and ensure systems and processes function at high levels of operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue timely and complete periodic financial statements with variance analysis of revenue and expenses (overall company and by business segment/department) including preparation of all financial and performance reports and summarize the most salient financial data.
- Support annual audit process and tax preparation and compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards (i.e. GAAP, IFRS, etc.) and regulatory requirements, and accuracy of internal and external financial reporting.
- Maintain a reporting system that measures, analyzes and reports activity, revenues, gross and operating margins and operating expenses.
- Monitor and ascertain accuracy of balance sheet accounts on a parent-company and consolidated basis.
- Perform bank activity monitoring and reporting and ensure effective treasury management.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in treasury functions to optimize liquidity.
- Lead cash application and cash disbursement activities.
- Support the implementation and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulations.
- Participate in the ongoing development of accounting controls and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Perform evaluation of recurring monthly procedures and other areas of responsibility to optimize process and control improvements and implement scalable processes.
- Perform ad hoc analyses as required; support management with in-depth analysis at their request.
- Supervise the accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to achieve company objectives.
Position Requirements
- BA/BS degree in either Accounting or Finance (MS degree is preferred).
- CPA certification is required (need to be active).
- 5+ years of related experience is required.
- 2+ years of experience at Controller or Assistant Controller level is strongly desirable.
- Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in transportation and logistics industry is desirable.
- Experience managing multiple companies with heavy consolidation experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/resolution skills and a team focus.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point; skilled with ERP Systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
