The ideal candidate has STRONG accounting skills and is ready to put them to the test! Additionally, the ideal candidate will know Excel inside and out. We’re talking advanced skills like V-Lookups and Pivot Tables! Did we mention how the right candidate will be detail-oriented? What you will be responsible for:
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Deliver quarterly reporting and supporting
- Prepare schedules and requests for external audits
- Provide supporting analysis and ad-hoc reporting as requested
- Manage the timekeeping system and processes, and ensure timesheets are accurate and completed on time for payroll processing
- Serve as backup for payroll processing
- Prepare workbooks and support the annual and quarterly Federal and State compliance filings and process related payments due
- Review and respond to regulatory notices
- Assess current processes and develop and implement best practices and automations
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
You possess the following qualifications:
- BS/BA in Accounting
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- 501(c)(3) and (c)(6) Non-profit organization experience, a plus but not required
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proven aptitude for systems such as Dynamics GP and other ERP systems
- Irrefutable advanced Excel skills required (you will be asked about your skills!)
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience working and communicating with various regulatory agencies
- Experience with UKG or other timekeeping system

This position will work on a Remote Primary basis. Quarterly meetings occur on-site in our Reston, VA headquarters. Remote workers must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized. Reliable internet connection is a must!

It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the range is $67,550 – $90,050.
