The Underground Manager is responsible for overseeing all Underground Operations, Scheduling, Quality Assurance, and Timeline management of fiber optic network projects. Their role is crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Timeline Management:
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
- Adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes.
- Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Secure necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, such as the National Electric Code.
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Implement quality control processes to ensure the highest level of workmanship.
- Oversee testing and certification of fiber optic installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network performance.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage project-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are followed on the project site.
- Implement safety training and procedures for project personnel.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans and reports.
Requirements
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience, leadership, and fiber drop position preferred.
