Are you an experienced Accounting Manager looking for a path to Controller? The role of Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily functions of the accounting department, including numerous consolidations. The position requires exceptional time management and organization skills due to the fast-paced, growing nature of our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background as well as experience with multiple entities, accounts payable, general ledger, journal entries, reconciliation, cash flow, payroll, financial statement preparation, and consolidations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all financial activities, including the production of accurate and timely financial reports and statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Supervise and direct accounting staff, ensuring compliance with best practices and established financial regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal financial controls and procedures.
- Manage budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, efficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist in formulating strategic and long-term business plans.
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressive accounting roles.
- Professional certification, such as CPA, CMA, or CA - preferred.
- Significant experience with multiple entities and consolidations.
- Expert knowledge of accounting methods and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficient in general office practices, including the utilization of accounting applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Supervisory/management experience.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to independently manage deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset that works towards continuous process improvement and efficiency.
