Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of our healthcare organization. This position is responsible for assisting with the management of all accounting and financial functions, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and supporting the Controller in driving financial strategies and operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, hospital, or doctors group industry and possess strong knowledge of ERP systems. This position offers hybrid flexibility after 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Perform variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the Controller in preparing financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and work with department heads to control costs and optimize financial outcomes.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Maintain and enhance internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare industry regulations, including HIPAA and other applicable laws.
- ERP System Management:
- Oversee and manage the organization's ERP system, ensuring its effective use in financial reporting and operations.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize ERP system functionality and address any issues.
- Train and support staff in the use of the ERP system and related financial software.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to ensure the department's success.
- Special Projects:
- Participate in or lead special projects as assigned by the Controller or CFO, such as system implementations, audits, or financial analyses.
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 a year
