Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Analyst to join our Investment Solutions team. SB associates are working a weekly hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position may work in our Des Moines, IA, New York, or Topeka, KS locations.

What Does the Job Look Like?
- Financial Analysis and Investment Due Diligence: Responsible for conducting financial analysis and overall due diligence on existing and new potential investments to understand business performance, operating trends, operating and financial forecasts, industry dynamics, and assessing the overall risk of an investment. This includes preparing financial models, investment memoranda, and other necessary business analyses.
- Investment Origination and Structuring: Assist in the origination and structuring of private, secured investments using securitization finance technology to achieve desired risk/capital/return characteristics of fixed income investment. Proactively optimize existing investments to be compliant with all rules and regulations while optimizing risk/capital/return.
- Portfolio Management: Assist in the management of Security Benefit’s investment portfolio which includes trading, pricing, audit/finance/investment operation requests, legal documentation, and regulatory matters.
- Reporting: Responsible for ad hoc and periodic reporting on portfolios of assets and specific investments, providing insightful analyses to inform decision-making and strategy.
- Relationship Management: Form and maintain business relationships by interfacing with borrowers and other counterparties.
Who Are You?
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Progress toward CFA, and/or MBA preferred (support to be provided).
- Previous experience in an Investment role preferred.
- General understanding of the interaction between risk tolerance, investment parameters, and the numerous constraints faced by insurance firms including capital, tax, and other accounting-related factors.
- Ideal candidate will be well organized, independent, entrepreneurial, assertive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
- Ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, possessing a strong desire to understand complex transactions and situations in a dynamic environment.
- Hard-working with a team-oriented approach.
- Understanding of financial markets.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, modeling, and financial analysis skills. Programming skills are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization and develop/maintain external relationships.
- Robust skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
