Job Title: Senior Accountant (Manufacturing Sector)

Addison Group is excited to support a leading manufacturing client's search for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. They are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge within the general ledger (GL) and prior experience overseeing the month-end close process, in addition to full-cycle accounting functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the GL and have a proven track record in the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of the general ledger and business operations to efficiently and accurately manage financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors during audits.
- Conduct reconciliation of complex accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor and analyze inventory valuations, including standard costing and variance analysis.
- Lead and support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing critical financial insights.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Engage in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing sector.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
