POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst's main duties include budget management, fund reporting, and audit/900 support. In addition to managing the items above, this position provides support within the accounting department wherever needed. It is a small accounting team, and areas of support where needed are constantly changing, thus providing an excellent opportunity for growth and valuable experience.
- On a monthly basis, review and communicate fund balances to budget managers, establishing timelines for reconciliations and adjustments to be made.
- Create and maintain templates to systematically request and compile projected revenues and expenses that include but aren't limited to:
- Salary and benefit expenses with accompanying attrition analyses.
- Assumed salary allocation percentages.
- Revenues expected to be earned and accompanying pledge payment schedules.
- Non-personnel expenses.
- On a monthly basis, reconcile revenue and AR balances from the CRM to accounting system.
- On a monthly basis, conduct variance analysis and investigate variances and implications.
- Prepare internal financial reports, develop financial models, and prepare data analysis.
- Review gift agreements for approved indirect costs and ensure indirect costs are charged appropriately, as well as proper restrictions.
- Review revenue and expense general ledger accounts for proper coding.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including finance department staff, program staff, auditors, and other parties as needed.
- Assist in preparing annual financial audit and Form 990 work papers as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Roles and Functions (Responsibility and Accountability)
- Preparation of monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis for program funds and communicate results to fund managers.
- Month-end related duties: including managing flux analysis and reconciling critical AR and revenue accounts.
- Assisting in annual budget preparation.
- Audit support for annual audited financial statements and Form 990 preparation.
- Ad-hoc reporting as required.

- GAAP accounting knowledge.
- Outstanding computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, general ledger application, fundraising application).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor, payroll, and other sensitive information of the organization.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of non-profit fund accounting principles.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and Sage Intacct helpful but not required.
- Advanced Excel knowledge, including the use of Power Query.
