Overview
We are seeking a CT Technologist (PRN) at St John Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about patient care. This is a pro re nata (PRN) position, as needed on a per diem basis.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and ensure they are properly positioned on the CT table, explaining the procedure with empathy and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Operate CT scanners to obtain images of targeted body parts, adjusting settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Monitor patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Assist radiologists in interpreting images and administering contrast agents or performing certain procedures.
- Preserve all equipment assigned to the radiology department, ensuring quality assurance of CT scanners for accurate images.
- Keep accurate records of each patient's procedure, including images and relevant medical history.
- Follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and personnel.
- Maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs.
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
- Appropriate national certifications in two modalities.
- Current BCLS accredited by the AHA.
- Familiarity with State and Federal regulations.
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills.
It would be beneficial to have these qualifications, but they are not required:
- One year of Acute Clinical Radiography experience.
- Graduate of a radiology technology program accredited by JRCERT.
