POSITION SUMMARY
Job Title: District Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Department: Operations
Reports To: Director of Operations
The District Manager is responsible for growing the value of multiple Del Taco assets (a group of restaurants, the brand, its guests, and team members). This will be achieved principally by increasing profit and traffic. A District Manager’s primary focus is on selecting, developing, and leading store management teams to consistently achieve and exceed all expected results.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- Achieve planned financial results through top-line sales, effective cost management, and returns on our investment.
- Ensure that facilities always meet our non-negotiable standards for all guests and team members.
- Build and sustain restaurant teams that consistently execute our non-negotiable standards by developing capability, passion, accountability, and pride.
- Develop the quality and quantity of talent (particularly General Managers and Shift Leaders) needed to effectively operate our current restaurants as we continue to plan out our Growth and Development strategy.
DECISION RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions Made:
- Wage rates within legal and Del Taco Standards.
- Local Restaurant Marketing Initiatives (within toolkit).
- Emergency Maintenance priorities.
- General Manager selection, termination, pay, discipline, performance management.
- Actions to address legal, risk management, and compliance issues.
- Opening hour changes to optimize restaurant performance.
- Annual Budget (future).
- Training Restaurants and Managers.
- R&M Vendor Selection and management.
SUPERVISION
Direct: General Managers
Indirect: Assistant General Managers, Shift Managers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Del Taco General Manager and/or at least 3-5 years multi-unit restaurant management experience in other food service concepts.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and related software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain Operational Excellence and Brand Integrity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail, result, and deadline-oriented with a professional demeanor.
- Independent self-starter with a can-do attitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office and restaurant environment. Extended periods of standing, sitting, typing, and looking at a computer screen.
- Ability to travel to restaurant locations within assigned area and some overnight travel.
