As Head of Sales, you will be directly responsible for increasing our sales through the physical channel in our key markets (Benelux, France, Germany), while also exploring new B2B growth opportunities.
The physical acquisition channel is primarily made up of two main pillars:
- Retail – This channel is the most promising and was recently launched at Dog Chef. We currently have over 150 retail partners, including both independent stores and chains such as Poils&Plumes, Terranimo, and Animalis.
- Veterinarians – This channel is already well established in Belgium, with 700 veterinary partners, and needs to be further developed in our other key markets, such as France and Germany.
You will lead a team of 5 people and work closely with the CMO to ensure perfect alignment between commercial and marketing strategies.
You will report directly to the CEO (or directly to the CMO, depending on the projects) and play a key role in strategic decisions.
- Development of retail and veterinary channels, as well as other physical partners (breeders, grooming salons, etc.)
- Managing negotiations with key accounts (store chains, veterinarians, etc.)
- Market research, competitive analysis, and the development of new revenue streams to diversify our commercial offering
- Managing, coaching, and developing the sales team
- Creating and monitoring the business plan with the CFO, managing budgets, margins, and KPIs
- Interdepartmental collaboration to ensure consistency in actions
- Participation in strategic decisions during management meetings
- Operational and administrative management within the commercial department (creating, managing, and overseeing in-store activations, organizing events, following up on unpaid invoices, overseeing daily operational issues, managing email flows for newsletters, campaigns, product launches, and impact measurement)
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in business studies
- 7 to 10 years of experience in sales and management
- Excellent communication skills (both internal and external)
- Experience and understanding of omnichannel commerce and the ability to develop a sustainable commercial strategy
- Entrepreneurial spirit, able to work both independently and as part of a team and achieve results
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team while aligning commercial strategies with overall business goals
- Adaptability to change (scale-up environment)
- Active contribution to a collaborative dynamic
- Alignment with our HAPI values (Home, Autonomy, Progress, Impact), which are essential to the culture at Dog Chef
- Multilingual: FR / NL / ENG (spoken and written)
