Position Summary:
The Director of Social Media Strategy is the head of the social team and oversees all social strategy and execution of brand marketing initiatives on social platforms for the network. This role requires a unique blend of innovative instincts, digital and social media aptitude, platform and audience expertise, management skills and strategies that drive growth, as well as an eye for performance metrics – all of which impact revenue, brand performance and more. The position, based in Los Angeles, leads a team of talented professionals and reports to the VP, Brand Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in content and strategy for network and series social media for all initiatives, across multiple channels to meet and/or exceed metric targets including engagement, follower growth, impressions, reach, revenue, etc.
- Ensure consistent brand message across multiple consumer touch points including Facebook, Instagram (feed, Stories, IGTV), YouTube, TikTok and similar platforms for network and series.
- Build strategies and timelines to align with network / series calendars, sales and partner opportunities and brand initiatives, events, press and activations that require content and social media integration.
- Partner closely with Consumer Marketing Team to develop overarching marketing strategy, budget, timelines, and execution of all brand marketing initiatives through social media platforms, content, and tactics.
- Partner with Brand Creative Team and other stakeholders to produce social content strategy, translated through creative briefs to create effective and engaging content.
- Ability to be strategic and tactical – to manage a team providing supervision, while ensuring plans align with or drive greater series or network strategy.
- Guide Social Media Specialists, external agencies and vendors involved with producing content, community management, platform strategy, etc., enforcing clear delineation of roles and responsibilities for maximum output from the team.
- Translate social analytics and sentiment into actionable insights to inform future strategy, content development and platform usage through social media Specialists’ execution.
- Manage reporting of results to company/executive team.
- Contribute to social/digital sponsorship opportunities and serve as key liaison on strategy and execution for driving revenue on social media for large scale clients.
- Lead amplification strategies, identifying new opportunities to drive growth and media value - owned and earned - across social media campaigns.
- Collaborate across the company with Production, Development, PR, Scheduling, Digital and other teams to weigh in and provide intelligence from a social perspective.
Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience.
- Self-starter who is experienced, strategic, creative and passionate about all things social media.
- A natural ability to collaborate well with others across the organization and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
