The Associate Director, Financial Planning & Budget is responsible for overseeing the operating and capital budget planning and analysis functions across research and corporate lines of business. This position will influence decision-making towards the organization's annual and long-term financial health by combining technical and financial expertise with tactical vision and leadership.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Budget Planning and Management:
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes, including the development of budget templates, guidelines, and timelines.
- Manage the preparation, consolidation, and distribution of budgets and related reports.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather budget inputs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze budget proposals and provide recommendations for approval or adjustments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive budget management policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide budget management oversight.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously improve budgeting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy while enhancing the decision-making process for senior leadership.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to strengthen the budgeting process and capabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as a key liaison between the FP&A team and other departments and leadership, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Provide training and support to department heads and other stakeholders on budget-related matters.
- Staff Development:
- Lead team of analysts, providing guidance, counseling, oversight and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
- Proven track record in a senior financial management role.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial planning and analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $135,408 to $225,638, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
