Job Purpose:
The open position is for a VP based in our New York, Dallas, Chicago, Houston or Boston office within the Transaction Advisory Services practice (including technology, business services and industrials, financial services and healthcare). As a professional in the group, you will be teamed with a highly talented and dedicated group of M&A financial and tax due diligence professionals on an investment banking platform.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Lead buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements
- Drive discussions with senior client executives and target management
- Manage team members (Analysts and Associates) on engagements
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with key clients in addition to assisting MD with strategic pitching and business development initiatives
- Review target company financial information and other data to identify historical and projected financial and operating trends
- Assess quality of earnings, working capital, net debt considerations, and potential liabilities impacting valuation
- Develop operational insights utilizing data & analytics to analyze profitability drivers and evaluate risks and opportunities
- Draft and review transaction advisory reports on normalized earnings, budget achievability, operational insights, and post-transaction working capital analysis
- Review financial models and database systems
- Develop professional network and relationships with firm, client, and target professionals
- Review transaction agreements and develop valuation considerations
- Collaborate closely with corporate finance, valuation, and financial restructuring colleagues
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
- 6+ years of financial due diligence experience (or a combination with audit experience, including at least 4 years of financial due diligence), preferably with a Big 4 firm
- CPA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly motivated with an exceptional work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively
- Demonstrated professional achievement and client service excellence
- Healthcare transaction advisory experience
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including SEC reporting and purchase accounting
- Strong analytical abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Tableau, Alteryx, and data analytics packages preferred
- Willingness to travel
Salary Range: Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package. The firm’s good faith estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is: $145,000.00-$180,000.00. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary based on various factors, including the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
