The Associate Director, Operational Excellence is a key leader and partner to our site Operations team in Hayward, CA, and our Illumina Services Labs in Foster City, CA. In this role, you will partner with the leadership team and their functions to deploy our Operational Excellence business systems and build self-sustaining capabilities in their functions. You thrive on solving complex problems, navigating across various disciplines and functions, and empowering/inspiring/mentoring others to make their work easier and drive improvements (safety, quality, and productivity) with significant business value.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership teams in Lean/Operational Excellence system deployment and maturity.
- Support and lead complex improvement and optimization projects/initiatives in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost savings.
- Conduct training in continuous improvement methodologies and mentor others in the application of these methods.
- Facilitate/assist business process management and the teams supporting continuous improvement.
- Contribute to/Drive business process management and help to ensure sites have installed and are effectively practicing business processes.
- Coordinate stakeholders to develop area-specific roadmap as part of site/functional strategy.
- Lead functions to develop, implement, and monitor site goals and KPIs through strategy deployment.
- Oversee site Operational Excellence Project Portfolio and chair the Operational Excellence Steering committee.
- Provide oversight for Business Continuity Management and Risk Management at the site.
- Promote site-level communication and sharing through the network.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience, with 7+ years of Management experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement programs with quantifiable business results.
- Excellent collaborator with cross-functional customers and network partners.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
- Advanced facilitation skills and change agent abilities, with the ability to lead people indirectly and through influence.
- Deep analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced level knowledge of Root Cause Analysis.
- Remains current on industry process improvement methodologies and implements best practices to drive business performance.
- Ability to lead people indirectly and through influence.
The estimated base salary range for the Associate Director, Operational Excellence role based in the United States of America is: $175,300 - $262,900. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
