The Impact You'll Make
As a leader in Lam's Global Supplier Management organization, this critical position requires a passionate, driven leader who will architect and deliver strategic directions to the organization's supply chain, ensuring the company is positioned to be a winner in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive industry. Initial focus will be to architect the RF Power / Plasma Power commodity supply chain to support a growing global business with a high degree of complexity. This includes aligning resources, prioritizing strategies, establishing targets, and implementing growth and cost initiatives that support the broader business strategy.
This executive position resides within the Global Operations Supply Chain organization. This person will collaborate with the Executive management team, Supply Chain Executives and Product Group Executives.
Location of the position is in Fremont, CA or Tualatin, OR and will include worldwide travel.
What You'll Do
- Architecting and delivering a complete end to end strategy that supports Lam's 3-year horizon for the RF Power / Plasma Power commodity:
- Supplier selection (Expansion & consolidation) that meet business needs
- Deliver & focus supplier investments (R&D & capacity expansions) that are aligned with Lam's needs
- Responsible for commercial negotiation that result in achieving annual objectives for cost, quality, lead time & flexibility.
- Develop a 3-year vision, strategy and organizational structure for RF Power / Plasma Power commodity. The strategy should enhance competitive differentiation and address commodity availability, quality and cost.
- Anticipates, identifies and evaluates current and future issues, promotes new ideas in providing strategy and direction for areas of influence.
- Leadership responsibilities include:
- Execute the vision and implement the strategy by gaining executive alignment and motivating and engaging the workforce to fulfill the vision.
- Lead sourcing negotiations.
- Drive business processes that enable effective prioritization and facilitate faster customer solutions.
- Provide inspired leadership and direction to the global supply chain organization. Continue to build and develop a world class team in an environment where successful people want to work.
- Lead a geographically dispersed team of approximately 10 employees, including some matrix employees.
- Instill a culture of quality and discipline into all of our suppliers.
- Build and maintain a strong employee organization through strategic hiring, development, and performance management. Develop and execute the optimum geographic distribution of the organization to get the desired results most effectively.
- Manage supplier relationships to deliver negotiated value
- Develop strong, collaborative and effective relationships with the internal product groups; including when supply chain and product group goals are opposing.
Who We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent post graduate qualification desirable. A BS in supply chain with experience or an MBA will be considered.
Fifteen (15) years of professional experience in an executive leadership role within a global matrix managed multi-site company with manufacturing and supplier operations spread over multiple continents.
Experience in semiconductor industry with operations background, and Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt highly desired.
Knowledge in RF Power / Plasma Power technology; working directly with suppliers in this space.
- Has extensive experience interfacing with customers and suppliers and managing these relationships on product issue identification, problem resolution and total experience.
- Demonstrated business orientation and proactive leadership that identifies and anticipates problems, issues, and risks to project outcomes and manages those issue in advance of a critical situation
- Proven record in leading a large organization to new level of performance.
- Has led and developed high performing teams and demonstrated ability to maintain and engage staff.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills across multiple cultures in North America, Europe, and Asia.

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $146,000 - $322,000
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
