Role Summary:
This role will be responsible for extracting patterns and key findings from customer behavior and market analysis for use in demand forecasting and scenario planning. These findings will drive Rivian’s commercial activities and guide the development of demand strategy and Demand Planning technology.
Responsibilities:
- Support consensus demand reviews by business functions part of S&OP forum through partnership with marketing, finance, sales, product and program teams.
- Support weekly business reviews and drive alignment across the commercial organization with supporting action to achieve a consensus plan.
- Develop a multi-variable econometric model used to create a medium-long range demand forecast and procure/identify necessary input data.
- Use said model to create a demand forecast (volume and mix) and present important findings to leadership.
- Leverage strong industry knowledge of top selling competitive models, competitor pricing and feature set, and industry trends to provide written and verbal guidance and recommendations.
- Work directly with an existing internal modeling team to forecast future strategic gaps (using new and existing tools), applying an understanding of customer demand to assess risk.
- Critically analyze the success of our forecasting predictions through measures of accuracy and effectivity, looking for and implementing ways to improve.
- Directly interface with planning partners in delivery ops, product strategy, commercial, sales, and marketing, as well as senior leadership for presentations.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in Business, Econ, Data Science, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or related from an accredited university.
- 3-5 years of business/demand planning or relevant experience.
- Deep understanding and ability to apply concepts of elasticity, probability, correlation, statistical significance, and modeling and forecasting skills.
- Ability to create a demand forecast considerate of multiple variables and indicators (including market indices, financial metrics like APR and inflation, and competitive landscape).
- Ability to work directly with partner teams to gather inputs and present findings autonomously.
- Ability to translate nuanced research/modeling findings into clean and clear presentation material, and comfort verbally presenting.
- Advanced Excel, Tableau, and statistical modeling/simulation software experience preferred, python knowledge is a plus.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $94,900-118,600/year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
