Purpose: In this customer-facing individual contributor role, the Sr. Director, Business Development will fill the gap between field-based Sales team and factory-based Engineering and Design teams. This person will have a high level of technical proficiency and a strong familiarity with the capabilities of FormFactor's products. They will understand our customers' test challenges and will work closely with customers to define solutions to these challenges using FormFactor products and technology. To accomplish this, they will use their negotiation skills to align customer requirements to factory capabilities. When appropriate, they will bring opportunities to the factory that require development projects. They will work to define development requirements and represent the customer interest on development teams. This role will also work closely with the regional sales teams to identify new customers and opportunities, and to convert these opportunities into bookings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities and initiatives for product lines and drives successful penetration strategy with Sales team.
- Collaborate with customers and factory team to assess measurement needs, determine probe card requirements, and proposed solutions.
- Use negotiation skills to close gaps between customer requirements and factory capabilities.
- Drive feasibility analyses.
- Define product requirements and participate on development project teams.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers.
- Create and present about product and markets to audiences both internal and external.
- Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.
- Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives.
- Defines vision, strategies, and tactics.
- Provide competitive intelligence by researching competitor's offerings. Drive proactive and reactive responses as appropriate.
- Develop strategic marketing initiatives and activities that enhance the marketing position of the company's products and services.
- Lead the MarCom team to implement and design marketing plans, materials, and communications that include print, broadcast, and online content.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Physics required, Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of successful customer-facing business development experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including both small group and large audiences.
- Proven experience speaking to a group and engaging in problem-solving dialogue with occasionally distressed customers or partners.
- Demonstrated success in team environments where outcomes are influence-based.
- Cross-disciplinary technical breadth and depth necessary to explain and negotiate details of product functionality and performance with customers. Familiarity with Foundry & Logic and Memory instrumentation and measurements and semiconductor testing a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% both domestically and internationally.
The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $213,800 and $280,500. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
