Reporting to the Director, Asset Management & Reliability, in this role as Associate Director Asset Management & Reliability CoE, you will be responsible for overseeing Asset Management, Maintenance and Reliability activities to support Vaccine, Sterile, Pharmaceutical, and External Manufacturing Operations within a designated region in the Manufacturing Division.
As Associate Director of Asset Management & Reliability CoE you will play a crucial role in driving maintenance practices by implementing and sustaining a global maintenance work management program. Your focus will be on assisting sites in achieving maintenance excellence through standardized practices, regulatory compliance, cost control, and efficient scheduling.
You will champion the use of the six step maintenance work management process, collaborating with Operations and External Manufacturing leaders to optimize maintenance schedules and drive increased reliability for enhanced plant performance. Through your deep understanding of site challenges and the objectives of the Manufacturing Division and Business Units, you will work closely with site personnel to create and execute a comprehensive Reliability Plan that leads to World Class Supply.
You will uphold the highest quality standards in the design, construction, installation, maintenance, and operations of all assigned activities. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in elevating asset performance and ensuring optimal reliability across the region.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work and welcomes internal applicants from different parts of Europe and eastern US.
What you will do:
- Guide sites during new CMMS implementation supporting new processes
- Implementing and sustaining the six step maintenance work management process
- Lead reliability and maintenance excellence across manufacturing sites
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external leaders
- Ensure reliable and cost-effective provision of utilities
- Train and develop staff for achieving goals
- Strong leadership skills for managing hybrid teams and implementing cross-functional processes
- Influence leadership, peers, and customers
- Drive best-in-class Reliability and Maintenance approach and initiatives
- Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and other techniques
- Utilize data analysis for predicting reliability and optimizing equipment performance
- Recommend strategies for extending equipment lifespan and reducing costs
- Identify low investment engineering and manufacturing processes for cost reduction
- Foster a positive work environment for maximum business impact
Extent of Travel: Expectation of in-region travel, up to 50%.
What skills you will need:
To excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Master's degree in Engineering (desirable), with certification in Asset Management and/or Reliability (e.g., CRE/CMRP) highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, process, and reliability, with minimum of 5 years specifically in maintenance management supporting sterile and pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably in a clean room environment.
- Strong leadership and influence skills to select, develop, and manage internal and external staff and teams in cross-functional environments.
- Proficiency in maintenance and reliability prediction and improvement methods and tools.
- Solid understanding of cGMP, Sterile Manufacturing, Formulation & Filling, and packaging.
- Track record of successfully managing maintenance and implementing improvement strategies across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Strong business, analytical, information systems, and computer skills.
- Experience with engineering processes, engineering software, reliability testing and prediction.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, value stream mapping, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
- Understanding of key business performance measures related to functional, quality, and cost issues.
